Internal Audit Manager
(Penang)

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize and complete audits of our world-wide locations to evaluate the effectiveness of the Company’s internal controls. U.S.-based managers have primary responsibilities over the Company’s North American and European locations, while Malaysian-based managers have primary audit responsibilities over the Company’s Asian locations (currently Penang, Malaysia and Xiamen, China). However, audits at any Plexus world-wide location are within the scope of the position’s job responsibilities.
• Assist with the development of the annual audit plan, including the on-going identification and assessment of the company's key risks. An annual risk assessment will be performed which will include discussions/interviews with Asia's key management personnel to a)understand primary responsibilities/activities, b) identify IT systems relied upon, c) identify key areas of financial, operational and compliance risks managed, d)understand how those risks are managed, e) understand methods used to monitor the effectiveness of controls in significant risk areas and f) identify potential gaps/weakness in controls and/or key risk areas that may lack substantive monitoring controls.
• Develop proper audit programs to address the relevant risks.
• Direct and/or perform audit programs as determined necessary.
• Examine internal controls and conduct audits with a value-add perspective.
• Monitor and assess management’s progress on past audit results and report related follow-up to the Director of Internal Audit for inclusion in Audit Committee reports.
• Present audit findings to the applicable local site management subject to audit.
• Draft audit reports for distribution to executive management and the Audit Committee.
• Assist with the Company’s SOX compliance audits, as necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for the quarterly Audit Committee meetings, and attend such meetings as may be required from time-to-time.
• Work with external audit firm to address their audit issues and attempt to reduce their audit risk.
• Investigate Whistleblower Issues. US-based managers have primary responsibility over the Company's North American and European locations, while Malaysian-based managers have primary responsibilities over the Company's Asian locations. However, investigations at any Plexus world-wide locations are within the scope of the position's job responsibilities.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Internal Audit.
• Participation in the annual minimum number of continuing education hours required to maintain any professional certifications pertinent to the job.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance/Professional Accounting qualification with mimum of 10 years of experience in auditing (public or private) or equivalent experience is required.
• CPA and/or CIA certification preferred.
• Presentation experience to Audit Committees or Boards
• Audit experience with a Multinational Company.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics.
• Experience in the use of Audit Software Tools (i.e. ACL) preferred.
• IT audit experience a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills. Advanced decision making, problem solving skills
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Very self-motivated and have a proven ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to make presentations to site management, Corporate management and the Audit Committee, as may be required from time-to-time.
• Fluency in the written and spoken Mandarin is preferred.
